Alan Frost and his team grow a variety of distinct and delicious apples and pears, many of which are heirloom varieties and hard to find. The orchard produces sixteen varieties of apples for market yet Alan’s favorite, and one for many of us at Market of Choice, is the delicious Crimson Crisp for its sweet/tart and crisp profile. No matter how you like your apples, sweet or tart, crisp or soft, big or small, you’ll find a favorite among Riverwood Orchard’s offerings. It is the range of varieties that has us eager for each season and what Alan’s team brings us.
Riverwood Orchard and Farm is part of our DIG Local program which has us working closely with small family farmers to bring their produce to our markets and provide our customers with fresh local choices. Selected for their terrific tastes, textures and colors, our Dig Local farm-to-table produce is curated with care. Each variety is nurtured from seeds to starts and rooted in Oregon soil.
