Patricia Garcia-Rogers grew up in the small desert town of Calexico, California, just across the border from the city of Mexicali. She was raised on Baja-style cuisine where bold salsas are a large part of every dish.
“Once I became an adult and traveled to different places, I discovered that I couldn’t find those flavors that I loved,” she says. “Later in life, I found the opportunity to pursue my dream and start my own business sharing the flavors I grew up with.”
Patricia’s business, Salsa Garcia, which is based in Eugene, makes smooth and flavorful dipping sauces that double as excellent cooking sauces. They make Original and Salsa Verde, both available in medium and hot.
“Salsa Garcia is all about the flavor,” she says. “We make authentic, blended, Mexican salsas inspired by my family where we value wholesome, rich, flavorful Latin American comfort food.”
Salsa Garcia is made fresh locally and the business rents kitchen space from FOOD for Lane County, a nonprofit that helps people who have food insecurity.
“Market of Choice has been incredibly helpful in promoting my products, especially during the hardest time during the pandemic,” Patricia says. “They truly care about local products. I am truly blessed.”
